Alkagesta said it took part in the second Annual Central Asia Oil & Gas Forum in Tashkent on 15 and 16 October, represented by its CIS Regional Trader, Javid Guliyev. In its account of the event, the company described a gathering of energy executives, policymakers and investors examining changes in Central Asia’s energy markets, including logistics, regulation and the region’s place in international energy security.
According to Alkagesta, the 2026 programme focused on strengthening cooperation between regional energy markets and improving supply chains. Discussions covered oil and gas reserves, approaches to production and the routes used for cross-border trade. Logistics infrastructure was also on the agenda, placing the movement of energy supplies alongside questions about how the region’s resources are developed and brought to market.
The programme extended to refining capacity and access to markets, as well as investment and risk management, the company said. It also included the development of public-private partnerships across Central Asia. Those subjects formed part of a broader agenda combining production, processing and transport with the financing and cooperation involved in regional energy activity. The account did not provide details of individual sessions or their conclusions.
Alkagesta presented the forum against a backdrop of changing trade corridors and Central Asia’s expanding involvement in global supply chains. The company characterised the meeting as an opportunity to discuss both the prospects and the difficulties facing the region’s next stage of energy development. Its report described dialogue on those issues rather than announcing a specific commercial agreement or infrastructure commitment.
For Alkagesta, attendance reflected Central Asia’s importance to its wider regional business. The company said it has an active presence in CIS markets and a petroleum-products trading platform operating across approximately 48 countries.
